2020 has definitely been a challenge, not just for our congregation, but for our entire planet as we were plunged into a worldwide pandemic after COVID-19 took hold. As it has been for many others, the pandemic meant shutting the physical doors of our building and migrating our services, programming, and information online through our website, social media and Zoom. Being digitally connected to information became not only emphasized, but was a necessity in the face of the pandemic, as we learned to be creative while maintaining Ohef Sholom Temple’s congregational community online. Our social media platforms were instrumental in reaching our congregants, as well as distributing our monthly publication digitally for everyone to stay up-to-date on all Temple-related news. My utmost goal for Bulletin designs in 2020 was to visually give congregants a remaining connection to their Temple and community, offering content of hope, faith, love and a semblance of comforting familiarity in a world turned upside down.
