9th Annual Animalia Pet Fête
17th Street Farmers’ Market | Richmond, Virginia

Being a part of the 17th Street Farmers’ Market was all about the community – especially the many wonderful vendors that were staples of one of the oldest markets in the U.S. – located right in the Shockoe Bottom business district of downtown Richmond, Virginia. Oftentimes, I loved to showcase our vendors, and in this case, one of our vendor’s pets. With so much sass and humor in one photo, I thought it was a beautiful representation of what the Animalia Festival was about – our furry friends! This festival wasn’t just for our two-legged patrons, but focused on fun for both our two- and four-legged market friends and family! There was even an annual “Blessing of the Animals,” complete with contests, parades and petting zoos.
